GENERAL ADVICE
The nights are getting darker again and it’s a time of year when we typically see a rise in burglaries.
Criminals often take advantage of the cover of darkness and empty homes, so it’s important to stay one step ahead and make sure your property is protected.
Lock your windows and doors, even if you’re only stepping out for a short time.
Close your curtains or blinds when you leave the house to keep valuables out of sight.
Use light timers to give the impression someone is home, especially if you’re out during the evening.
Keep car keys away from doors and windows, particularly if you have a keyless entry vehicle.
Criminals can use signal-boosting devices to steal cars parked outside. A Faraday pouch is a simple way to block these signals and reduce the risk.

IN GOOD NEWS
We conducted visible patrols around the neighbourhood, targeting the hot spots for drugs and Anti-Social Behaviour. Stop and searches were conducted to tackle drug dealing/drug taking. Burglary patrols have also been conducted.
I have worked closely with our PRIORITY TEAM, and we have successfully closed down DRAGON PHEONIX MASSAGE in ELMDON. Following concerns raised by the members of the community, we conducted further operations and intelligence gathering which led us to apply for a closing order which was successfully granted.
I have also joined the STREET WATCH members of LYNDON for a lovely walk around the neighbourhood. It was great to finally meet them! Thank you to all residents involved in the Street Watch groups in helping to make a change. If you’re interested, please drop us a reply and officers will be in touch.
Lastly, I have joined the Scouts Group at ST MARGARET’S CHURCH for a general chat with the children around “STRANGER DANGER”. I was pleasantly surprised to see that all the children were already aware of “STRANGER DANGER” and knew what to do if they needed help and who to call. The children then had some fun trying police helmets and seeing the police kit but also taking pictures with the police car.
Please remain vigilant and report anything suspicious in your area by calling 999-emergencies, 101 non-emergencies or online.
Kind Regards, PC 27570 GILVRAY and PCSO 31795 BEARD.
